This free community education session will provide information for workers experiencing workplace exploitation, with a focus on the new protections available to temporary visa holders in Australia.
Participants will learn how to recognise common forms of exploitation, understand their workplace rights, and explore options for taking action safely.
The session will explain the Workplace Justice Visa, which can allow eligible visa holders to remain in Australia while pursuing workplace claims, and the Strengthening Reporting Protection, which protects eligible workers from visa cancellation when reporting exploitation.
Presenter: Seri Feldman-Gubbay, a specialist employment and discrimination law practitioner. She is a Senior Solicitor at Redfern Legal Centre and assists with delivering the Employment Rights Legal Service, a statewide employment rights service in NSW servicing migrant and vulnerable workers.
